Mark Gerstein

Mark Gerstein is an award-winning filmmaker and an Associate Professor of Film at the University of Central Florida.

Formerly a film editor from Los Angeles, Mark worked for over 15 years on a broad range of award-winning projects in the Hollywood mainstream. His numerous credits include: Studio and independent feature films: THE PICKLE (Columbia/Tri-Star), ROGUE MOON (Zuba Pictures); eleven network television movies and mini-series: including the Emmy-nominated THE FINAL DAYS (ABC), UFO CAFÉ (NBC), ALWAYS REMEMBER I LOVE YOU (CBS), THE PREPPIE MURDER (ABC); two network television pilots: BAR GIRLS (ABC), THE FIFTH CORNER (New World Television); five network television series: including OPPOSITE SEX (Warner Bros/FOX), the Emmy-award winning SISTERS (Warner Bros/NBC), and the Emmy Award-winning THE CAPE (MTM).

Since moving to central Florida, Mark has expanded his filmmaking credits. Associate Producer and Film Editor of the award-winning and nationally televised documentary THE CALL OF STORY (PBS). Writer/Director of the 35mm short film NO WORRIES (Official Selection at 17 international film festivals including Sedona, Long Island, and Breckenridge). Writer/Director of the 35mm short film DETOUR (Official Selection at 23 international film festivals including Sonoma, Cinequest, and Cleveland). DETOUR was recently honored with a DVD distribution deal paired with the hit independent feature film THE KING OF CALIFORNIA (starring Michael Douglas and Evan Rachel Wood).
